Shipping Ports:
Freeport of Riga, Rostock Port, Port of Saint-Petersburg and Ports of Stockholm are the ports of the Country.
Left-Hand Drive Vehicles:
Left Hand Drive Vehicles are used in the country and also Left Hand Vehicles are allowed to be import.
Documents Required for customs clearance:
- Original Certificate of Title and Registration
- Original Commercial/Purchase Invoice
- Drivers License and International Driving Permit
- Import license
Temporary Importation:
Temporary importation of vehicles is allowed only for one year. Temporary importation is subject to a two percent deposit at the Customs office in Riga, Latvia along with application for temporary import of the vehicle.
Taxes and duties:
- Vehicles under seven years - 1600cc petrol or 1800cc will incur 10 percent duty and 10 percent VAT.
- Vehicles over seven years - 1600cc petrol or 1800cc will incur VAT only of 18 percent.
Note- Customs applies book value as the minimum if declared value drops below the customs book valuations.
