Shipping Ports:
Port Beirut and Port Tripoli are the ports of the country.
Left-Hand Drive Vehicles:
Left Hand Drive vehicles are allowed to be import in the country.
Prohibited Import:
Lebanon prohibits the import of used vehicles that are over eight years old.
Lebanon also prohibits the import of used vehicles that make use of diesel fuel.
Documents Required:
Original Bill of Lading - indicating make, model, engine and chassis numbers, weight and color
The Original Vehicle Registration
The Original Certificate of Title
A Purchase or Commercial Invoice
Duties and Taxes:
For imported vehicles where the CIF is 20 million LBP or less, a flat customs duty of 5 million LBP is assessed.
For vehicles where the CIF is greater than 20 million LBP, then customs duty is 50percent of the CIF amount.
Regardless of age, value or condition of the imported used vehicle, this VAT is equal to 10percent of the sum of the vehicle’s CIF and whatever amount was paid for the import duty.
