Belarus, a landlocked country in Eastern Europe, is known for its Stalinist architecture, grand fortifications and primeval forests.
Importing a Vehicle
- According to the existing regulations, newly imported cars older than 2007 must comply with a number of requirements.
- A person who is interested to import a used car from Japan have to submit the declaration form.
- Among all the regulations, imported cars should be of environmental class and along with that there should be at least one front airbag, Isofix attachments points for child safety seats.
- If an importer is a member of environmental class limits shall not apply to environmental class limits.
- On the basis of the relevant documents from the seller it will be possible to confirm compliance with the fourth environmental class.
Note: From July1, 2016, environmental and technical requirements will be obligatory for all used cars imported into the country.
Importing used vehicle Temporarily:
- In accordance with Article 264 of the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter CC EAEU) temporary import of vehicles by natural persons for personal use registered in the state that is not a member of the Union is possible for a period of not more than 1 year.
- Such vehicles are subject to customs declaration in writing using the passenger customs declaration.
- And before the expiration of the one year period the vehicle must be either brought out from the territory of the Customs Union, or sold, donated, etc. after having paid all the provided customs.
Completion of temporary importation:
Temporarily imported vehicles for personal use before the expiration of the period during which such vehicles may temporarily be located in the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union are subject to customs declaration for the purpose of export from the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, release for free circulation or for other purposes, except for cases when the said vehicles for personal use were confiscated or turned into the property (income) of a Member State by a court decision or they have acquired the status of goods of the Eurasian Economic Union in accordance with clause 2 of Article 16 or paragraph 6 of Article 382 of the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union , or with respect to these vehicles for personal use, the circumstances stipulated in subparagraph 8 of clause 7 of Article 14 of the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union.
