Port of Frederikshavn, Port of Skagen and Esbjerg Havn are the major ports of the Country.
Inspection
In order to register a vehicle on Danish number plates, the vehicle must undergo an ordinary technical inspection and a customs inspection.
Documents Required:
- Vehicle inspection form and the customs inspection form issued by the inspection authority
- Foreign registration certificate
- Proof of payment of customs duty (if importing a vehicle from a non-EU country)
- Application for payment of registration tax.
- Deposit for registration tax
Duties and Taxes:
- Customs duties amount to 10percent and VAT to 25percent of the invoice price of the vehicle plus freight rates and costs.
- Registration tax is paid once in the vehicle's lifetime in Denmark. It is not paid again if the vehicle is sold.
